Our Academy

Since 2002, The Soccer Learning Center has introduced thousands of area children to the authentic and correct methods to learn soccer – in an instructional, knowledgeable and disciplined academy environment uniquely created to appeal to the learning styles of young students. Our classes establish an early foundation for athletic excellence in your child.  Travel team and recreational league coaches tell us constantly – TSLC athletes stand out for their knowledge, discipline and skill.  Many of the students who started with us as young children go on to play in competitive level travel, high school and college soccer teams.You don’t need any soccer experience to participate in our classes. Activities focus upon fitness, skill building, technical and tactical abilities, team play, sportsmanship and more.

Our academy’s curriculum is carefully organized to match the appropriate development of our selected age groups. Classes are kept small to encourage a deeper, hands-on understanding of the day’s lesson.  Each session builds upon the last so every player learns, step by step, the skills and techniques needed for success in soccer.

Our Indoor Location

The Soccer Learning Center holds all of their indoor classes at the Primary Prep School indoor gym, 41 Tuers Avenue in the Journal Square area of Jersey City, New Jersey. Convenient to the PATH, local buses, UBERs and car transport, the gym offers an ideal playing area for small sided games and instruction. There is free parking across from the school for our registered family members.

Please be sure to read our Pandemic/Emergency Closing refund policy here prior to registering your child. All tuition is non-refundable for any reason after you register your child, except in the event of a mandated closure PRIOR to the BEGINNING of the session’s first class. Our Coaches

Alex Lalaoui, the co-founder and Director of Coaching for The Soccer Learning Center, brings a lifetime of soccer experience and a unique approach to coaching to every program within our academy. Believing that students learn best by doing, Coach Alex gets even our youngest players actively involved in every aspect of the game. Marwan Yahia, an Assistant Coach with TSLC for many years, is a student favorite with an exceptional background in coaching and refereeing both youth and adult players. As a former semi-pro player from Morocco, Coach Marwan brings a wealth of experience and insight to his students that translates into real-world skills that our young athletes can bring with them onto the pitch. Abdullah Miftahi, an Assistant Coach and business development team member, has been an essential part of the TSLC vision since its inception back in 2002. Coach Abdullah is a recognized figure on the pitches all over the state and the nation as a much sought-after soccer referee. His calm coaching style is backed by solid experience as a semi-pro player from Morocco. Our youth and adult players have all commented on their appreciation of Coach Abdullah’s disciplined and knowledgeable style of coaching TSLC classes. Moulay Sharif Alaoui is our Operations & Administration Manager overseeing our marketing, social media, customer service, and new program development initiatives. Moulay Sharif grew up surrounded by the world of soccer and brings a wealth of creativity and knowledge to the position.
