DiNardo Cup Fundraiser a Huge Success!

MYFOXNY.COM - Law enforcement officers and firefighters played a soccer tournament at Giants Stadium on Friday to raise money for the family of murdered Jersey City Police Officer Marc DiNardo.

 


Coach Alex Lalaoui Awarded Proclamation from the City Of Jersey City

The City of Jersey City, New Jersey recently issued an Official Proclamation honoring TSLC Head Coach Alex Lalaoui for his service to the city and its residents. The Proclamation describes the efforts of Coach Alex, including his soccer coaching achievements, charitable initiatives, and community involvement.

Coach Alex was dressed in traditional Moroccan apparel for the ceremony, which coincided with a special Moroccan flag raising ceremony over City Hall that same day. It was the first time that the Moroccan flag was raised over a City Hall in the United States. Coach Alex is a native of Casablanca, Morocco.

The Soccer Learning Center Collects 300 Soccer Balls for Children in Iraq

He set the goal at 200, but by the end of the 10-day drive, Coach Alex was able to give 300 soccer balls to a brave American solider seeking ways to help the needy children he encountered every day while serving in Iraq.

Coach Alex Lalaoui is surrounded by members of the community that helped make the TSLC ball drive a huge success including Mayor Jerramiah Healy, Detective Joe Shaw, members of the New York Red Bulls and New Jersey Ironmen, and officers from the Jersey City Police Department.


Autographed Soccer Jersey Auction Raises Funds for Two Local Charities

Organized by The Soccer Learning Center, The Heroes Cup Revenge Match featured the current championship soccer team from the Jersey City Fire Department against the Jersey City Police Department squad. In a spirited game, the JCFD team trounced the JCPD, setting the firefighters up to be the team to beat at the next Heroes Cup match at Giants Stadium in April.

As part of the event, a special autographed soccer jersey auction was held with proceeds benefiting The Burn Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Women Rising organization.
